IPOH: Federal Reserve Unit personnel have been deployed in front of the state secretariat building in Ipoh. At least seven trucks are used to block the building's main entrance.

Prior to that, the police had set up roadblocks on roads leading to the building.

A small crowd has gathered in front of the secretariat building, including party members, lawyers, supporters and many members of the media.

Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen, including former menteri besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, arrived at state secretariat building at 9.40 a.m. for the emergency sitting of state assembly called by Speaker Sivakumar.

BN supporters have lined up to prevent them from entering. Some pushing and shoving going on.

Pakatan assemblymen and Nizar not allowed into building, but police allow Sivakumar to enter.

Pakatan supporters make a protective ring around their assemblymen. However, the ssemblymen start moving away.

At 10.05 a.m., Nizar gets into his car. Discussions going on among Pakatan assemblymen and MPs on their next course of action.

They are expected to head towards the DAP state headquarters where they might hold a press conference.

Although allowed entry into the state secretariat building, Sivakumar did not go in and declared a vacant lot about 200m from the building as the venue for the emergency sitting.

At 10.20 a.m., the meeting commenced with the hearing of the first motion from Titi Serong assemblyman Dr Khalil Idham Lim Abdullah to trust and supportNizar as the menteri besar. Sivakumar asked for the motion to be debated.

Teja assemblyman Chang Lih Kang proposed a motion asking for the dissolution of the state assembly to call for a new election.

Both motions were agreed by all Pakatan reps.

At 10.35 a.m., Nizar proposed that the emergency sitting of the assembly be adjourned. Sivakumar adjourned the sitting.
