b4 i am a science teacher..
among the topics that i have been taught to students are the properties of metal & non metal n pollution
the metal topic was taught earlier n the pollution topic much to d end of the year
but somehow the intelligent of student still can related this two topic accurately
one of the main properties of metal is shining n the non metal is dull
believe or not the word "dull" is something new to student. they even didnt know how to pronounce it correctly nor it meaning.
but they coop well with the topic of pollution. it might come from the benefit of their previous knowledge based on their own exposure to the media n other subject in command.
what made me salute this students are their abilities to connects the relationship between shining, dull & corrosion as an outcome of pollution.
i am remembered display to them a picture of a copper statue that shine beautifully..
then the slide played on as the time goes by... day to month to years to decade..
suddenly the beautiful shine statue that once capture eyes n heart of spectator evaded..
now the statue remind standing but in dull condition..
then the question come.. Why ? What had happened to the beloved n beautiful statue ?
almost all the student came out with d correct answer..
it cause from the effect of air pollution..
the beautiful shining statue had been corroded..that why it now became DULL
(mind you their dont even know this word b4 he he)
i ask more..
so, what you should do to maintain the statue beautiful n shining ?
one of the student stand up n answer quickly and her answer even shocked me.
"polish it everyday sir. just like we polish our heart"
ha ha ha
i dun get it that day..
now i praise the answer .. how it make sense in real life
he he
