FORD UNVEILS THE EVEREST XLT 4X2 AUTOMATIC
PETALING JAYA, 18 May 2005 -- Ford Malaysia unveiled its latest offering, the Everest XLT 4X2 Automatic. This versatile Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) from Ford delivers flexible, comfortable and safe transportation for the whole family, as well as the SUV image and road presence that consumers' desire.
This SUV was launched by Mike Pease, Managing Director, Ford Malaysia and Alex Chang, Director Motor Group, Ford Operation at a media party organised by the company.
"The Everest XLT 4X2 Automatic is an ideal choice for those who want all the advantages of an SUV but do not need four-wheel drive capability. It's a tried and tested SUV and we are confident that its reliability, versatility, safety and fuel economy will be its key strength in its segment," said Mike Pease, Managing Director, Ford Malaysia.
The new Everest XLT 4X2 Automatic continues in the Ford SUV heritage set by the Everest 4X4 and comes with the spacious comfort as well as its trusted and proven 2.5L turbo diesel engine that delivers excellent fuel economy with low emissions.
"Following its 4X4 predecessor, the Everest is tough, versatile and just plain fun to drive. Its ideal for urban driving with its Command Seating position providing clear visibility in traffic for greater comfort and security," he added.
The Everest XLT 4X2 Automatic comes with a spacious interior, designed for 7 passengers to answers the urban family's need for space. It boasts innovative, synchroseats, which allow the second row seats to double-fold and automatically unlatch from the floor for easy access to the third row seats at the pull of a lever. A similar action can be used to tumble-fold or remove the third row seats to provide cargo space for large and bulky items.
It is an exceptionally well-equipped vehicle with many delight features that illustrate a thoughtful approach to its interior design, making it the perfect travel vehicle for long distance drives or for weekend getaways with the family.
